| I don't have a good upload host, otherwise I'd upload everything I have for sharing. But uh, if you want to brag about how good something is and upload it for us to listen, here's the place. I will upload once someone directs me to a place I can host my files. ;_; But anyways, Devendra Banhart. I strongly recommend Cripple Crow and Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon. Very psychedelic music that's very singer-songwriter and part of the Weird New America movement. My favorite songs are "Lazy Butterfly" , "Bad Girl" , "The Other Woman" , "Freely" , "Cripple Crow" , "Hey Mama Wolf" He's just an amazing songwriter with great imagery in his lyrics. I recommend him to anyone who likes indie mostly. _________________ let them say our love is peculiar, don't care you are my twin, no i will never go there!!

| Slain on Second Avenue are friends of mine, and quite possibly the best band in the province imho. If you like heavier music then take a gander. www.myspace.com/slainonsecondavenue |

| I second Devendra Banhart - he's amazing! Also, Cat Power (Chan Marshall). She's a brilliant singer and songwriter, and her style ranges from alt-rock ala PJ Harvey, to singer/songwriter and a southern Blues feeling (this is mostly with her two newest albums "The Greatest" and "Jukebox"). Also, her voice is very unique and soulful - I can't wait to see her live at the Roskilde Festival next week! :excited: Also, she's just sexy as hell. | The Black Keys, one of my favorite bands still in action. Real blues, right now. The most accessible album is possibly Magic Potion, but I'm a big fan of 10 AM Automatic. |

| I recommend Regina Spektor most emphatically. I also enjoy Frou Frou's singer Imogen Heap, both with Frou Frou and her solo albums. Listen to "Let Go" by Frou Frou._________________ |

| Hmmm... Well there are always classics you can't go wrong with (Bruce Springsteen) But for some bands others might like that they haven't heard of... Try looking up some Vayden if you wanna try something new, or if you want something that sounds a little different try Authority Zero (Or the lead singers solo stuff Jason DeVore). They aren't normally my type of music but I love them. _________________ Oh, did I mention I'm awesome?

| Panic at the Disco's new album (Pretty. Odd) is far, far superior to their first one. And I liked their first one. Vampire Weekend. <3 |

We seem to have similar musical tastes, have you heard Joanna Newsom?
Cat Power... I've only heard "Sea of Love" and "The Greatest"... can you recommend any albums?
I love Imogen Heap & Frou Frou. |
Yes, I have both her albums! She's great.
Going chronologically when it comes to a new artist is always a good idea. Look http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cat_Power_discography <---here for a discography. "Moon Pix", "You Are Free" are both great albums to start off with too, though. "You Are Free" was the first album of hers I bought.
EDIT: Also, Imogen Heap and Regina Spektor are both good too. |

Cobain is a horrid fucking singer.
Pain of Salvation is among my favorite bands of all time. Daniel Gildenlöw has one of the most amazing and versatile voices I have ever heard and writes some of the most hauntingly beautiful lyrics ever. They are also one of the few bands I have heard that sound almost exactly the same on the stage as they do on their CDs. |

It was okay until the singing/vomiting started. But I'm not into that kind of thing so I wouldn't know how to rank them. |

| The Dears. Oh Murray Lightburn, your life is such a disaster and your eleventh relationship this year has failed. What is there left to do but swoon and lament your tragedy with a pained Morrisseyesque holler? End of a Hollywood Bedtime story is a good place to start, because C'etait Pour La Passion is simply lovely and about as good an introduction to a band as there is. |
